@tenkaichi2master23 i dont have my dog anymore sadly, but i've learned from many gs owners that they can be very stubborn and not eat. Did you get a puppy or an older dog. if its an older dog, its probably just used to another type of food. my friend has one and sometimes it just wont eat for days. as long as you keep the water bowl filled they're as happy as can be. if its a puppy you should try some soft food at first because their teeth aren't matured. If this doesn't work.. (cont)

@tenkaichi2master23 u should take him or her to a vet to make sure something isn't wrong. It also might help sometimes to just go to the pet store and let them sniff around for food they like. Let me know how it goes good luck

Here is my strategy and it works almost every time. This is all assuming the dog is healthy and is just a picky eater. Put down some food you know your dog has eaten before at his regular meal time. Leave it for 15 minutes. At the end of that time, pick it up unless of course he's eating. Don't give him another morsel, nothing, no treats, no people food. Wait until his next meal time. Put his food down, wait another 15 minutes. On average my dogs would chow down after the 3rd missed meal.

Hey Joe, Did you ever figure out what to do to get your dog to eat? I just rescued a dog from the shelter 3 weeks ago and still having issues getting him to eat. he had been at the shelter 1 1/2 years and they just mix all the dry food that's donated to them together and feed the dogs.
