That was the most useless hand stripping video I've ever seen.

It's not hand stripping ! I would not charge for a hand strip unless I was generally stripping and plucking the coat properly !

It's not emptying the hair follicle and removing the dead coat

I'm so glad I found your video! I have a border terrier mix so she doesn't have quite so much hair on the ears & her hair gets super messy. This really helped

This is rubbish! You should never do this to a Border Terrier if you know what you are doing. The dog is still left with a thick coat. insulting to a Border Terrier.

This shows absolutely no understanding of this breed of their double coat. Hand stripping takes out the top coat and these so called 'undercoat rakes' do the exact opposite taking out the undercoat. This is not a cheat hand strip, this is someone who doesn't have a clue what they're talking about.

Lost all credibility before the 1 minute mark.  Anyone who knows about borders know they don't shed like crazy (well unless they are wet) hence they they need to be stripped, if they shed that much you wouldn't need to strip them.

Title of the video is "Everyday Hand-stripping" NOT "Hand-stripping for Show" Eric Salas' is fantastic but he talks about grooming dogs for the show ring not dogs that go into a grooming salon maybe every few months, in which case yes, the hair does shed "like crazy".

Why are people so mean? This isn't for everyone, but it's still helpful for people who just want to groom their terrier. A lot of people aren't going to strip the coat, so this is a good alternative for them!

Why would anyone want to hand strip a dog! Why can't people just let dogs be dogs! Poor little dogs, you know that hurts! God help them! To bad there is so much cruelty in this world!

So would these tools even be an option for large breed terriers like Airedales? And how easy would it be for an owner to use these tools to groom their dogs without hurting the dog?

Interesting suggestion; I have never heard about specific grooming 'rakes' that can hand strip without the need for pulling the coat with fingers/knives.

great for pets, thank you. Folks, these are rakes, not stripping knives, meant for pets, not show coat. very similar to the popular PET grooming tool, fulminator. It serves a purpose for the pet owner who wants to keep their house and car cleaner. Yes, the terminology is not correct as this is not stripping, but pet owners would not know the difference anyway, and it is not necessary in order to learn to do this at home.

thank you very much! I love my rakes and anyone who takes the time to use one knows valuable they can be.

you should probably be more gentle. you look like you're hurting the dog

Why people are so mean sometimes, just watch the video and listening, all dogs coats are not the same.terriers have double coat, I like the video and the tools, and the dog doesn't looks scare or be on pain.

What is the name of the rake you are using?

Well coming from the borders here in Britain, poor Ricky looks bugger all like she should. Whilst she is cute the coat has been abused for too long. The ONLY way to treat a border is to pluck by hand. As for washing twice a year in the river is more than enough.
