There are no such things as black Westies. Westies were born to be white after the Duke of Argylle inadvertently shot his Cairn Terrier dead as it blended into the environment, he bred Westies to stand out. Their full names are West Highland White Terriers.

Skin problems are environmental. Had a Westie for years when in summer had really bad belly itch. Moved, then no more problems. Barking ? Mine never did bcse I told her not to when she was a puppy. Weties have bigger problems like inherently bad lungs. My beautiful dog lived till she was 16 years old and was bought from a puppy mill (didn't know how inhuman they were back in the day) so top breading obviously doesn't make a westie live longer, probably the opposite, as mine was a x Caine, and pure breads are easily inbred which creates problems. If you Would like to view my beautiful dog she is on my channel and passed away only 4 months ago from brain damage due to seizures from liver disease.
